Julie Heyde

Instructor/Coach

Julie started at MIT in 2023 as the Director of track and field and cross country/track and field head coach, in addition to teaching Physical Education and Wellness courses. She has her B.A. in English and Philosophy (with minor with NCATE accreditation) from Boston College and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University. She has her USTFCCCA Strength & Conditioning Certification, NCACE accredited, and is a Certified & Licensed Secondary Level and Grades 5-8 Teacher. Julie is also a Certified Level 1 USATF Coach and Certified Level 1 NSCA (National Swim Coaches Association). She has been coaching both swimming and track and field for more than 15 years. Julie’s favorite part of teaching at MIT is learning about what drives, inspires and informs our students; who they are and what they want to do, as well as assisting them reaching their goals. In her free time, Julie loves swimming, running, bike riding, skiing, yoga, going to the beach with family; love to read and eat (but not cook!).
