Swim Test for All Students

The Physical Education & Wellness welcomes the Class of 2029 and any undergraduate student looking to complete the swim requirement to participate.
- This day is a student holiday and no classes will be in session, eliminating typical conflicts
Students who feel confident they will pass the swim test can attend during the assigned time. The swim test will take approximately 15 minutes. Students need to bring their MIT ID, towel and belongings on the pool deck. The small boat test will also be available for those interested in participating in sailing, SCUBA or kayaking in the future.
Due to the Career Fair, students must enter the Zesiger Center using the 120 Vassar Street entrance.
Important Reminders
- watch the swim test video prior to arriving on the pool deck
- bring towel and plastic bag for your wet clothes
- eat at least a granola bar 1 hour before taking the test
- there will be a slow lane for those who are unsure and a fast lane for those with previous experience (swim team or lifeguard)
- the teaching pool will be available to those who need some assistance
