B.J started at MIT in Fall 2025 as the David H. Koch ’62 Head Coach of Men’s Basketball and Physical Education & Wellness Instructor at MIT. He has his B.A. in Sociology, Bates College and M.S. in Administrative Studies, Boston College. For more than 10 years, he has served as a head coach and educator at elite academic institutions, building programs grounded in culture, accountability, and holistic student-athlete development. B.J’s passion lies in teaching leadership, teamwork, and resilience—skills that transcend the court and impact every area of life. He loves teaching at MIT because of the students’ relentless curiosity, drive, and willingness to embrace hard things. Every day, he gets to work with people who want to be challenged and grow—not just as athletes, but as problem-solvers and teammates. It’s inspiring to be part of a community that strives for excellence in every arena.
